Kiriloff defense, errr, or should I say lack of. Cost them big yesterday. Hitters, chasing breaking balls ooz too. Part of that was the start time/ shadows & bad luck. The other part was Houstons pitching plan & hitters focused on Sonny's breaking balls. Hunting Hangers. Laying off his FB, which is mostly a set up pitch.
Ya have to tip your hat to the plan of attack by the DEFENDING CHAMPIONS.
Rocco out coached? Duh- Dusty has 50+ years of MLB experience. Almost every manager is likely up against "it" facing a "crusty" coached team.
But Rocco? With his 10 years of MLB experience, has to be smarter than playing about the worst defensive 1b in MLB... ANd- if they are all over Ryan early. go to Paddock. Go to Varland. & ffs- don't be afraid to walk a guy...as well the obvious. If you're going to attempt to pitch to Yordon. Make him dance! Sliders at the ankles. Chin music high heat. If he gets hit by pitch. Plunk him in the knee cap, the neck. Make it hurt!
YO-Zilla is way to comfy at the plate thru the 1st 3. Make those Astro hitters dance! Early! Often & with heat! Heck, I'd even consider bring in Johan DOO-rOn early- with the directive to toss 104 chin zing!
It's all fair game in an elimination game. You can bet Dusty knows it.
Grow a sack Twinkies... Call them the Mn. "plinkies" in the post game if'n ya want.
I just looked... Kiriloff rides the pine

When the season finally ends...find a 1st baseman with leather.
Defense matters- gets amplified in post season- as witnessed yesterday.
Why Wallner wasn't converted to a 1st baseman the day after he was drafted boggles the mind.
Trade chips for a quality 1b= Miranda, Larnach & Kiriloff. 3 promising bats that cost more runs on D than they deliver at the plate.
