Not only that, but ticket prices are higher in NYC as well.
It sux that MLB cannot figure out a revenue share plan. Obviously- the "luxury tax" version of salary cap has not worked. It is still the big cities spending the big cash. Small market teams battle each other for the crumbs that fall from the table. I don't know the answer. But Bally sports bankruptcy should be a wake up call for the 30 MLB owners. Not that NYC & other top markets are worried in the least. Still, the financial health of all 30 teams should be a bigger league wide priority than seems to be the case.
