Josh Dobbs' heroic performance in Minnesota's Week 9 win has earned him the chance to continue to lead the Vikings this weekend, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
Dobbs will receive all of the first-team reps in practice this week, Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell announced Monday, with the expectation Dobbs will start versus the Saints.
Rookie Jaren Hall, who started at quarterback for Minnesota before exiting due to a concussion Sunday, remains in concussion protocol. Veteran backup Nick Mullens is still on injured reserve, leaving open the possibility that seasoned passer Sean Mannion -- currently a member of Minnesota's practice squad -- could be elevated to serve as Dobbs' backup, per O'Connell.

Nick Mullins needs to get healthy- fast.
I never again want to see Sean Mannion in uniform on the Viking sidelines. But. It sounds like Mannion will be the backup vs the Saints.
Please protect yourself Josh!
I don't know the answer to the following question. However I'm leaning towards no.
Has Mannion ever lead the Vikings on a scoring drive? Even a 3 plays for 5 yds fg drive after entering the game after a turnover or return.
I don't remember it ever happening. Maybe somebody else does.
That's not to say Mannion lacks value. It sounds like he more of a extra QB coach than an actual backup. I think I read a KOC quote somewhere stating Sean will make a great coach someday.
The old cliche about teachers seems apt here.
"Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach."
