A bonehead move. Not at 100% was the excuse. The reason tho was the misguided belief that chicago was ignorant to the dibbs blueprint laid down.
Epic coaching failure. JJ didnt complain. But his interviews suggested he believed himself more than ready to return. When I read it was Dobbs starting again, & JJ not removed from injury report. I chose the bears for the w. Not that I believed firlds would play great. He didnt. But instead based it on Dobbs regression in Denver and KOC not developing a dobbs specific scheme for denver. Absent the bump from JJ starting. I doubted the vikes would get a td vs the bears top rated run D.
Its not the blame / fault of dobbs. Its same old viking round peg recipe. Demanding Dobbs execute a scheme that doesnt match his skill set. What did KOC do to enhance the dobbs playbook? Ran some wildcat. Zero zone read & zero RPO.
These 2 losses are on the Former COY candidate Kevin O'dipsonell.
The round peg doesnt go in the square hole kevie.
Or as i like to say... Things my dogs gets- bc theyre obvious are things you miss bc of arrogance.
Oh well. Cousins being offered a contract seems a certainty now. Sadly, Dobbs us likely out of work soon enough. If Dobbsie is savvy. He becomes pen pals with Sirriani and or McDaniels/ Reid.
Those 3 coaches seem to understand pegs & holes.
Most of the leagues coaches do not.
I still believe Dobbs is special. Has a rare skill set. Similar to lamar. Similar to murray & mahommes. None will flourish in proset. To flourish, they need a great & giant o-line that makes the outside blitz unworkable. I still am shoked at how terrible brian Oneal handled that sheme in these past 2 games. You can bet ever left edge rusher the vikings face will be studying the bears & bronco tape.
Bad news for viking qb's forward.
