Who is ready to start early?
Who is future stud?
Who is average starter?
Who smells like BUST?
Opinions abound in the media. And the media has herd mentality. Once 1 pun idiot falls in love- everyone else follows. They always have, & likely always will.
Theyve never cared as much about being correct as they are about publishing it 1st & most often.

Heres my opinion-
Instant stud?
Closest is Caleb. However. Chicago has long been a qb graveyard. Maybe, this time the bears get it right, theyve added weapons & beefed the o-line.
Their defense finished the season hot in '23.
This could be a very good team, if they get the scheme right & Caleb fits his new age vegan personna into a chicago lockeroom. This could so easily go sideways.
Jayden Daniels? Instant Stud? Im not buying it.
185lbs and an inclination to run. I think theres glimpses before he starts getting banged up. Possibly he's a stud down the road. Possibly he is a bust. Most likely hes just a good starter for a few years while the Skins upgrade the supporting cast. I certainly wouldnt trade 3 1st round picks for a taller teddy bridewater ankles string bean.
Those 1st 2 picks are as big of a lock as exists for draftniks.
It gets really murky- really fast after that.
Lets go with qb comparison.
Is Drake Maye another Josh Allen or Mitch Trubisky?
Is Bo Nix another Aaron Rodgers or another Carson Palmer?
Is JJ McCarthy another Baker Mayfield or Drew Lock?
Is Michael Pennix Geno Smith, Joe Burrow, or a taller version of Drew Brees.
Lets rate by bust potential.
Maye has Bust written all over him. Im not fond of his demeanor.
Bo Nix doesnt look like a bust. Infact, i think he is the one guy in this class that can start out of the gate & adapt into an offense smoothly.
I don't like that he & the Ducks lost all 3 games vs Penix huskys. Is he going to wind up a dam good qb that "cant win the big one"?
There is something to the "big game loser" tag. Its hard to put a stat to it. Maybe its just being paired with a team/ coaching staff that doesnt script to win big games. Either way- IMO- Nix is the surest thing to achieve a 2nd contract from the 2nd tier group.
JJ McCarthy. I like JJ's demeanor. He strikes me as an all in footballer 1st. I dont like his small hands, nor his NCAA passing resume. Great leader, great gamer. But can he win games with his arm? JJ is going to need development. Not as lengthy as Maye will. JJ's never been asked to be a consistent passer. It doesnt mean he cant be. I do believe he will work at it as hard/harder than any of the 1st round qb's. Patience might get rewarded, it just as easily could wind up that JJ is a middler top 20 nfl qb, or longtime backup.
Michael Penix. This kid is a future stud. He's smart, perhaps not the fiery vocal leader a team would prefer in its qb. But he's not Geno Smith quiet either. Reportedly, all his medicals checked out. The one knock remaining has to do with his mechanics. A bit inconsistent in footwork, and a sometimes windup- long arm throwing motion reminiscent of Randall Cunningham. That is problematic if its not addressed. Nfl edge rushers feast on swatting the ball from those windup qb's.
My decision is in.
I want Nix Or Penix At pick 11. If both are gone, take Maye or McCarthy with a trade down.
At the end of the draft, Snag Joe Milton, Devin Leary or Sam Hartman.
Maye & McCarthy are overvalued as of now. I think they are the 2 most likely to be NFL dissapointments. Jayden Daniels is next most likely to bust- followed By Caleb in a bears uniform. I might even take Spencer Rattler ahead of McCarthy/Maye.
Depending on where they land. I think Nix & Penix will both be guys looked at as Dan Marino/ Aaron Rodgers/ Patrick Mahomes. QB's teams that drafted a qb earlier wish they had taken "then".
Tua vs Herbert.
Rodgers green room slide.
Marino last qb taken in the famous 1983 1st round. Lamar Jackson nearly falling out of round 1. Trubisky agead of Mahomes...
It happens every year.
Choose wisely kwesi. Let the draft come to you!
