Byron Buxtons bat starts to heat up-
& Now he's strained his boo-boo toe.
Left todays game in the 1st inning.
Hurt his wanky toe trying to run from 2b to 2nd base.
Most likely- buh bye Byron goes Yard?
No. Buh-Bye Byron, it turns out. As his nickname, means he's going to the IL
Id really like to fall in love with the player.
But we see this every season to date. His slow to warm bat. Finally heats up for 1 game, the very next game, or within a week- he gets a hangnail & goes to the training rable for a month. When he comes back. He'll be ice cold for a month. About the the time his bat warms, he'll bump into a wall & get a scratch on his hand that sends him back to the IL.
Idk that we have EVER witnessed a more fragile "cornerstone" of an organization. Jimmy Garapolo loses less time to injury.
Its a sad sad thing. But? Its way past time to just dump Byron. I'd have rather they traded Byron to Miami than Nick Gordon. At least Gordon is available when the game begins.
Correa & buck were drafted next to each other- went 1-2.
Same service time. Both- this is their 10 season.
Byron has 2300 at bats.
Correa has 4000 at bats.
Maybe? A fresh start elsewhere, a new traing staff. A new approach is exactly what byron needs. I like the guy. Do Buck a favor. Trade him to Boston. Thats what it took for the always injured Big Pappi Ortiz to finally play an entire season healthy.
Buck deserves- for his sake. A chance at becomming a FT player. Idk if a trade fixes it. But we do know. He is never staying healthy as a twin.
