Hi Jim,
Pennzoil is fine oil. I am using Pennzoil Synthetic oil now in my Honda Odyssey. The regular Pennzoil is Ok too. At one time many years ago there were issues but the current oil is OK from everything I've seen. I used it about a year ago with no issues.
Yes, you can go back and forth between synthetic and regular oil without any issues.
