After painting my 528e BMW, I thought since I had it down I would change the water pump and timing belt. When I removed the water pump, the spring for the timing belt tensioner fell to the ground. I can't figure out, nor can I seem to find out, how that spring and pin goes in. I have reasoned that the point of the pin goes in a little hole in a bracket on the roller mount, but where the other end goes baffles me. The little BMW Repair book that I purchased was no help. Maybe a part was left out when my engine was worked on once long ago. I certainly would appreciate some help.
