Around 25 of 321 non-starred hotels and villas in the regency already possess security and safety certificates. Four hotels, The Bale, Poppies Cottages, All Seasons and Restu Bali Hotel, received gold certificates.
Around 13 were awarded silver certificates, including Hotel Rama Beach Resorts and Villas, Villa Taman Lumbung, Green Kumala, Bali Barong and Ap Inn.
Seven hotels received bronze certificates, including Losari Hotel and Villas, 14 Roses, Yulia Beach Inn, Garden Bali and Legian Express.
"We hope we can upgrade the security and safety systems within non-starred hotels in Bali," Badung regent Anak Agung Gde Agung said, adding that this was aimed at improving security to guests and visitors to the island.
Training and upgrading of security and safety systems within non-starred hotels, villas and entertainment centers, including restaurants, will be held regularly to ensure guest safety. -- JP
