Just back from a few days in Lombok - went to Senggigi and stayed at the Jayakarta. The hotel was busy with conferences - suite was 65 US$ with Bfast. Good value.
The place is very quiet and the only really busy hotel was the Senggigi Beach Hotel , which fronts the main surf break, mostly Europeans and the staff said after July/August, the bookings were well down again
Checked out the Intan - 90% of rooms not in use, very quiet and almost a sad feel to the place.
Some good restaurants in the main street - one owned by an Aussie was always busy. Many shops empty.
Had to fly GT Air as the Wings Air plane was 'broken' .... a bit of an experience. The pilots left the doors to the cockpit open for the entire flight so had a great view of take-off and landing. Security seems to be well forgotten.......
