We took our son to Bali for the first time when he was five months old. Take the umbrella stroller for sure and a child hiker - even though the child backpack will be very warm for the person that uses it. We used babysitters everywear we went - ask the front desk of the hotel. We have been to Bali now 5 times with our son and never any babysitting problems. Just make sure they speak some English so you can communicate with them. If you are breastfeeding, continue that for sure. If not, bring powdered milk and always use bottled water. Wash your hands frequently and use mosquito repellant on the baby at sundown - even his/her face (ask your doctor for non-toxic). We took a box filled with toys, books, diapers, basic medicine, powdered milk, cereal and jars of baby food. The bananas in Bali are delicious - mash them. Just be prepared and you will have a great time. Don't forget sunscreen!
