we stayed at the Patra in June. There are no restaurants within easy walking distance, especially with kids. You will need to get a taxi to reach the Waterpark /shops/restaurant area in Kuta. It only takes about 5-10 min and costs a couple of dollars. It isn't a major hassle, but does add time onto each journey. However, when it is hot, a taxi is a good idea! The Resort is lovely. Enjoy!
