Over the last 8 or 9 years, I've always been kind of amazed by the inter-connectivity in our music scene, bands that have strong mainstays in various piece of KCs music history, musicians that have collaborated with each other in various circumstances, and how kind of special and tight knit our community is in many facets.
With that in mind, I've always considered the notion of an encyclopedia completely dedicated to Kansas City music, it's history, and it's musicians in every format and genre.
I think paying for a domain, and a small webserver to run a wiki for such a thing would be a pretty rad idea.
Obviously using a wiki means that it'd be almost necessary for people to monitor it, and that anyone can create new pages and alter anything, unless "vandals" had their accounts or IP addresses blocked. But I don't know what better way to go about such a thing that is freely editable as much as mediawiki is.
I'm curious as to how folks feel about such a thing?
