Last night on a documentary, David Simon talked about the major arcing theme of The Wire being the fact that the triumph of the organization/system over the individual. That the organization will exploit and dehumanize individuals to perpetuate the organization.
Modern political parties work the same way. Anyone in political life who tries to do the right thing, to compromise, etc. gets branded a traitor (by the left) or a RINO (by Russ).
It's gotten to the point where pols who try to compromise are treated like fuc.king crusaders rather than the norm in politics.
It's pathetic.
