Damn good sound. I don't just mean FOH sound, either.
Management that knows their shit.
Decent pay (percentage of the door).
Since it is a bit of a distance away from KC, a guaranteed crowd would help. Its tough (as you probably know) to get people to drive for an hour, THEN pay 10$ to get in, regardless of quality of band.
Occasional national acts. Aftershock has done VERY well with that.
Patron:
Damn good sound.
Bands that don't suck.
Variety.
Management and staff that know their shit.
Fair drink prices.
There is a local place that we've all played here in the metro. Sound is great. Atmosphere is great.. but on a busy night it'll take anywhere between 10 - 30 minutes to get a drink or place a food order. Quite frankly, it turns me off from going there. Many people I know have said the same.
Also, it would help if Damage had full control of your food menu (the food at DC was outstanding!)
I don't suppose I could also request strippers?
