Does anyone remember the Wagner's Christmas Cracker factory on the Arterial Road near to the Fortune of War roundabout (also sometimes called the "bonbon" factory). It was next to Scott's Dartboard factory My father William (Bill) Cowell manged the factory from sometime shortly after the war until his death at the age of 42 in 1964. His brother Cliff Cowell also worked there. We lived in St Nicholas Lane; my elder brother (Eric), sister (Linda) and I all attended what was then Markhams Chase Primary School (now Janet Duke). Eric and Linda went on to attend Laindon High Road School. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who remembers dad.
