My great grandmother Mrs Mary Millard and her husband John lived at OTRANTO LODGE MOPSIES ROAD BASILDON UNTIL HER DEATH IN 1948.
I know that the self build bungalows in this area were all compulsory purchased for the building of Basildon New Town.I have been trying to find out more about this area ie when and how these plots of land were originally bought and when the area was redevloped.
As a child my family stayed at a Chicken Farm in Church Road belonging to a William Buckley which was also purchased to be part of the redevelopment.Any information wil be greatly appreciated.
