Hi,
I used to go to Markhams Chase Primary School in the early "50's when Janet Duke was the headmistress. Since Basildon came I have no idea what has happened to the area but I only know what a wonderful time I had there. For part of the time we were in an annex near the railway crossing with Miss Whitley. We went to school through the wheat fields from Laindon. Life was so different then. I have no idea what has happened recently but thought you ought to know what it was like all those years ago.
