Helen, I can't wait for this thread to become soggy with nostalgia. My memories are of a wonderful childhood in Langdon Hills with lifelong friendships and indelible memories e.g Community Parties on birthdays, QE2 marriage and coronation and the annual Laindon Carnival traditionally headed by Billy Foyle dressed as a cowboy on a white horse. How sad it was to see the community slowly disappear like melting ice with each compulsory purchase and shop closure.
