Okay, so I became curious. This is what was explained to me...
5 years ago after Hurricane Rita the State of Texas and FEMA asked BV and other communities to place these markers as reminders that we should evacuate if a storm comes. The city council and mayor at the time (5 years ago) said okay. It just so happens that they are just now getting around to getting them up.
It doesn't have anything to do with insurance as I first thought.
I BELIEVE Vista View will write an article on it, but I am not sure. You can always go to city hall and ask about them OR go to the next city council meeting and protest.
