At first we just thought this was part of the problems that the USPS inherently has evidenced over the years as a government subsidized independent government agency that seems to not have to be efficient nor profitable. Then we had the missing mail resent by the senders and that also has not been received within two weeks of their mailing. (Normally we receive mail from these locations in less than 5 days) Now we are suspicious of theft because these pieces of mail, they are greeting card sizes, could be thought to have contained gift cards or other negotiable items.
We have approached the USPS in Santa Fe and they seemed only minimally interested. The Postmaster/Postmistress was too busy to talk to us even though he/she was in the building so we talked to a supervisor. She allowed as how they would look into where the items are and let us know as well as refer our case to the Investigative Service of the USPS if appropriate. Maybe we’ll hear?
If you’ve had similar issues please respond and maybe “numbers” will get more attention to this issue than we did. I’ve seen on the news that the Woodlands and Sugarland have had this same and more issues over a long period of time.
