Hey Tim itís been frustrating and expensive on how many traps are stolen every week and I only run 6 traps. The commercial crabbers who live in our area are losing thousands of dollars. I would suggest call or text the date and location of your stolen traps to Game Warden Provznik 713-819-0924 cell. The info will help them catch these thieves. There are BV folks now watching for the thieves. |
You may want to build your own traps to reduce cost. Iíve been designing and building my traps for the past 30 years. The bluecrab link is a good beginner DIY for building your own traps. San Leon Marine Supply has the bulk hardware to build traps. I will help you build your first trap if needed. Iíve designed my crab traps with the door in the top of the trap making it really easy to empty the crabs into a cooler on back of my jet ski.
