BV Christmas Boat Parade
It's Christmas Boat Parade time again !
This is an early reminder to all residents that the annual Bayou Vista Christmas Boat Parade will be Saturday December 8th.
As usual, the parade will begin at 6pm and all boats will begin from the Blue Heron canal this year and move down all canals to finish up in the Dolphin canal.
Mark your calendars now to participate by decorating your boat and entering this year's parade. Begin NOW thinking about your theme and begin preparing for how you plan to make your boat look festive in the parade. My hope is that we can have the largest number of boat entries that we've ever had and make this parade one for the ages !! With all of the boat owners in our neighborhood there is no reason why we cannot field many entries and make this parade a real special Holiday event to remember. Entry forms are published in this issue of the Vista Views and available from the BV Message board, as well as online and printable entry forms on the website www.bvboatparade.com. We also plan to have copies of the Entry forms at the City Hall/MUD Building, and at local retailers so there is no excuse for not being able to sign up early and begin your planning. The earlier we get your Entry Form the better we can plan for raffle prizes, after party arrangements etc. so don't delay !
Now, for those that do not enter the parade, just imagine how beautiful it will be to see boats parade down each canal, all lit up for the holidays and throwing candy to all of the children as the boats cruise by. The children will enjoy a special moment and it encourages all residents to consider hosting a Christmas party so that your friends/relatives can enjoy this special evening as well. Of course, Bayou Vista residents have never needed a reason to party....it just comes natural for us!
As usual, for parade entries there will be a pre-parade Captain's meeting on Tuesday December 6th and all residents are welcome to the after party at 285 Barracuda (John Thomas house) where there will be a raffle, trophies, food and music immediately following the parade event.
So don't be a Bah-Humbug Scrooge this year. Get involved by making a commitment to entering your boat and participating in the largest Christmas Boat Parade ever in Bayou Vista and creating lasting memories!
