Hi!
My name is Tina Garner and I am a Masters student studying Health Psychology at The University of Nottingham. I am conducting a research project under the supervision of Dr Neil Coulson which hopes to examine the role of online support groups and how people use and experience them. In particular, I am interested in understanding how such groups may help or hinder how people cope with and manage their illness on a daily basis.
In order to do this I am inviting you, and other members of a range of online support groups to complete an online questionnaire. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and you must be over 18 years of age. It is completely up to you whether you participate and you can withdraw from filling out the questionnaire at any point. This study has received ethical approval from the Institute of Work, Health and Organisations Ethics Committee at The University of Nottingham to ensure the study is conducted in an ethically appropriate manner.
