Has anyone on here used the rattlesnake vaccine on their dogs?
If so, were they, the dogs, ever bitten by a snake and it helped or made no difference? (I know ANY TIME a dog is bitten by ANY kind of snake you take them to the vet ASAP)
Can you order your rattlesnake vaccine and if so the costs? (our vet will give them for $12/vaccine)
I've done some research on the vaccine and I know there's only one company that I've heard of that's developed a vaccine, Red Rock or something. But some vets think this vaccine is ineffective as there are 15 kinds of rattlesnake venom and it can't protect for all of them. Just wondering what anyone knows about it. I have seen a Hog-nose snake and grass snake here at the house lately, which makes me concerned there are probably rattlers near by. We have cats that keep the rats/mice away, but nothing gets the toads these snakes have been after. AND I love my toads, so I don't want to get rid of them. They are too cute!
Thanks for any info
