Your are NOT asking too much. Imagine bringing in a full grown male to end up causing infertility or possible death to the rest of your pets/breeders. In addition, to testing, get a guarantee of soundness and temperament. I would want a guarantee that the male is not dog/human aggressive. If it doesn't work out you should have a few options for returning the dog and a partial refund.
