Ed,

You can be told anything...make sure you see actual copies AND that they are not altered but of that male. What with the hesitancy of allowing you to speak to their vet? Sounds a little off here.

I would also advise that making the trip there would be an pawsitively good idea! MUCH better to be safe than sorry!
