I really like the llama idea,and llama's do like human contact 
hey you know that you can also farm llama's and alpaca's for there wool...I know a couple of people around here that do

We had one in the past and he was always watching out for our kids. Once our toddler was about to fall down the steps. He wined and when we didn't notice he grabbed her shirt with his paw pinning it against the floor till we realized the problem. We intend on getting one or two again as soon as we get a bigger house / yard. I want them to protect the Bostons. We live in the city and are afraid to leave them in the yard unsupervised less someone comes and snatches them. I imagine a potential thief will think twice with a big Pyr in the yard. - Re: One more time

Hence the reason that I purchased my American Bulldog.They are a versatile breed that can do herd,protection work,obedience,weight pulling or whatever I may get interested in without being off the wall energetic.
Great Pry are a nice breed ...I think the next large dog type of breed I would consider for us would be a boxer

Man I bet those dogs are expensive! Puli's at one time were pretty outrageously priced...may still be. That hair is crazy! - Re: One more time

She is a big baby with me and my hubby but anyone else tries to go in the pen with her sheep look out she will eat there socks off. She is 3 and just getting her dreads, but when they are working dogs they are not pretty and white like the show dogs. Actually you really can't have one of these for just a yard dog, they will kill anything that comes into their yard or pen. They are ferocious with coyotes though. We have tried the Llama way and they are pretty good, but they get a worm from deer and die very easy. We wormed ours every 3 months. we were told every 6 months and that still wasn't enough.
