Atually, I decided to go with the Chase Harper Sport Tour strap model.

The first time I used it was for a mid October camping trip. I got it mounted and loaded up, got myself all suited up and got ready to head out. As I started my three-point-turn to get out of my driveway, my bike started making the most godawful grinding noise every time I turned the wheel to the right, but the noise would stop if I straightened the wheel.
I did it about three times before I got off, got the bike on its center stand, got my helmet off and earplugs out and tried turning the wheel to the right again as I stood beside it and watched the ignition switch hit the corner of the tank bag.
Sheesh! How stupid was that?
And why do you suppose we all feel a need to tell a "hey, guess how stupid I was" story?
