To all who gave their guidance at the meeting last thursday about my problem with getting my gs back on its feet thanks. I installed a gerging heated jacket with the permanent heat controller. I had to take the gas tank off to get to the battery and route the wires up under the tank and in though the back of my console to mount the switches. That went off with no problems. I followed gerbings installation instructions. Had no problems with that. I have never taken my gas tank off before. Oh sure its easy now... I had no guidance and no idea what potential problems I faced. I managed to safely remove the tank, and install the wires for my heated jacket. It was when I reassembled the bike that it started to make a funny noise when the fuel pump would start up. Then the engine would not start. I let it sit for a day to ask questions and think about what I did to the bike that may have damaged it. My gs has never had any problems until now. The day after the meeting I removed the tank again. went through my mental reassembly check list and did it again. but this time I unclamped the fuel lines and turned on the fuel pump to make sure it worked. sure enough it did. This time making sure I cleared enough room for the fuel lines and reassembled it. I put the tank bolt in and it started up with no problems. So what I think I did was pinch the fuel lines with the tank, that caused a resistance in the line and the fuel pump whined and made a wierd noise. I took her out for a spin on sunday and the jacket worked great by the way. I just thought i'd share the solution with you all. Thanks Jeff Denuit
