Hi Howie - Bugs are not a problem at Money Creek. The ponds and pool are spring fed, thus no stagnant water where skeeters can breed. If you plan to venture out in the woods in this region of Minn tick precautions would be wise. Do worry about the bugs with hooves and antlers - They really thrive in this area and have been known to attack both cars and motorcycles. 
I'd defer to a rally official on the Barley Pop question - Just because I don't recall seeing it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Sales available at local pub in Houston or Liquor store in Rushford, both 7 or 8 miles away.
