I see above they sent him home anyway. I don't know if he's on medicare or if he even has health Ins, but you can bet it's involved in some way. When my mother had her last big stroke, St. John's kept her until she was ready for Rehab. She was sent straight there from the hospital. She was there something like 6 or 8 weeks before they let her go home. Unfortunately so much damage was done to her mind she could no longer pay bills or cook or shop....
