Andretti was able to return to the track to run a few more laps as was Sorenson. Bobby Hamilton Jr. also was hit on both sides of his No. 25 McDonald's Ford Fusion bearing a paint scheme honoring his father's last Nextel Cup win at Talladega in 2002. Hamilton lost a lap and led the cars one lap down most of the day but never found himself in position to receive the lucky dog award and get his lap back. McMurray finished 42nd and Kahne 41st. Andretti settled for 39th and Sorenson 38th. Burton was able to continue finishing 31st. Hamilton finished as the only car one lap down in 24th. more... http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/56 http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/articles/2007/
On lap 17 of today's Orbitz 300 NASCAR Busch Series race in Daytona, Florida, reed sorenson got loose and wadded up $3,000,000 worth of race cars. After Sorenson got loose, Ward Burton hit Chip Ganassi Racing's and Reed Sorenson's No. 41 Dodge Charger in the rear. Sorenson was shoved into the No. 9 Dodge of Ray Evernham Racing driven by Kasey Kahne who hit the wall. This set off Saturday's "Big One," a crash that ultimately involved six cars. Kahne was, however, the worst victim of the wreck, as he crashed into the wall head-on.
