Ok so I have loved the Hamilton's since I worked at BHR back in 2004 on the #8 truck. Bobby Sr. was a great person! He made you feel like you were family there. I met Bobby Jr. for the first time that year when he was running the #59 HT Motorsports truck that Sr. was helping to get competitive for Jim Harris. He was just as geniune as his daddy.
I really hate seeing the direction that BHR is going. Bobby built that team from the ground up starting from the shop at his home to the beautiful shop they have now. Bobby never wanted to be away from his home in TN. To hear that the organization might make the jump closer to or in NC makes me sick. I wish them the best of luck! I dont think its gonna last long as it stands.
I feel before long the only thing to carry on the Hamilton name will be Bobby Jr. Jr I wish you the best on the 2008 season. Im sure you with this past season you have made your daddy proud and will continue to do so in the future.
With this I leave with a excerpt from an interview Bobby Jr. did after his father passed.
***(Bobby Hamilton Sr. told his son that his legacy wasn't BHR, Hamilton Jr. said.
"He patted me on the back and said, 'Your name is my legacy. Winning races is what I need you to do,'" Hamilton Jr. said before pausing again. "That's what I'm trying to do. With everything going on down there, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
"When I informed him that I wasn't really happy with the way things were going, he said it's not that important. He said, 'I won my championship. I did what I wanted to do. I built it from the ground up, won the championship. At the end of the rainbow, it's your deal. You do what you want with it.')
Looks as if that rings true to this day. Bobby Hamilton Jr wil be the only one to carry on the Legacy! Im sure that others on here will agree with me when I say that Jr had a good start to the Legacy this year! Looking forward to another great year! Sorry guys I just had to let that out. haha! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!
