I sat with Chris Fontaine's mom at Kansas in 05. She explained how she had bought the ride. It sounded to me like Bobby was hurting for funding and needed to make a buck any way he could even by selling rides. I couldn't see how that really helped the team though.
I was so happy Chris was O.K. after his crash that year. He went straight into the wall. I was holding her hand while they were helping them get Chris out. Man, was I relieved to see him climb out uninjured.
