THE POETRY HARBOR SHOW / RIOT: Hot Rod invited me to play at Poetry Harbor and while we were waiting I told DB's girlfriend "These people are going to hate us" and she said "These people are here to see you guys, no one is here for the poets" As the poets brought out their star- some published poet who had driven up from Minneapolis for this special reading- our fans started booing him as he read and kept chanting "Bone Appetit- Bone Appetit" until he finally left the stage. Then we came out and Hot Rod screamed "Are you ready to rock" and on cue the fuse blew- what a rock and roll moment! Bone Appetit was so powerful that the NorShor couldn't handle our energy! We had to unplug half of ur stuff just to keep from blowing fuses. When the set was over Rick Boo leaned over the railing and yelled at us to keep playing because he was selling so much beer. Hot Rod said "We don't have any more songs" and Rick yelled back - "Just keep playing" We started playing any cover that Richie, Death, or I knew and we butchered evry single one of them. Every time we tried to stop Rick yelled "keep playing" until finally Hot Rod had enough and kicked a hole in the bass drum. DB was outraged and jumped right over the top of the drums and tackled Hot Rod, igniting a full blown battle royale between fans and band members. Then our fans started grabbing whatever wasn't nailed down and running out the back door with it- much to Rick Boo's dismay. We were lucky to get out of there with most of our gear. I still have a piece of the bass drum from that show- a truly great Bone Appettit moment!
