I did most of my growing up around the Northeast coast (Maine, Connecticut). The last place I called home was Kentucky (my fathers home state where they say "Yall come back"), and now I live outside of New Orleans (for a time). The accents here are actually french cajun... which basically means it can be really hard to understand a true local. Here's an example "NaLens, ets whaya yhat" translations "New Orleans, it's where your at". I try not to have an accent but rather my aim is good pronunciation. I would like to get into theatre so accents only work in character. I do like it down here, so let's hope I can avoid turning french cajun. many sniffs,
