The last time I heard anything about Raccoon, he had moved to Ohio. You may want to get in touch with Jane Brack, she may know where he is.... Yes I agree he was/is Great....

: shows when jello first started playing
: there. i was there when they hosted the
: first halloween party in the barn. i was
: there when they built the second, and then
: third , stages uptop. i remember racoon. i
: rented a house w/ some of jello and had many
: a fri/ sat night up sudelersville. they

: Relix Magazine 1991 Issue: 18-2 Column: TOO
: NEW TO BE KNOWN - Relix Magazine, Music for
: the Mind - Information on the Gr One of the
: most interesting folk artists to come along
: in a long while is Ben Gibbs, who is better
: known as Raccoon. He wrote and sang
: "Yahweh Sunshine" by Jello on the
: Relix Bay Rock Sampler The Lost Boys #3.
: Gibbs has been playing live for over 10
: years throughout the Midwest, the East
: Coast, and as far off as California. He
: doesn't play bars often, but he does appear
: at lots of open-air gigs and other impromptu
: events. At present, he has a selfproduced
: tape of original songs available called Road
: Kill, performed solo with just acoustic
: guitar backing. Raccoon has a good voice, a
: wry sense of humor, and some great songs
: that should appeal to people who like
: Country Joe McDonald, Woody Guthrie, and
: similar artists. "Rainbow
: Mountain," the title cut, and
: "Buffalo Road" show the more
: poignant side of his writing, while
: "Sit 'n' Think 'n,"' the superb
: "Six Pack Heart Attack," and
: "Ten Little Indians" highlight his
: ability to explore socially conscious topics
: with humorous lyrics. There's also an
: excellent acoustic version of "Yahweh
: Sunshine," and best of all the long
: "Rainbow Warriors." Send $8 to
: Raccoon, Route 1, Box 181, Linden, Virginia
: 22642.

: wilmers park?
: Has it been cleaned up?
: If so...
: I would like to rent it for a weekend.
:
:
: I don't know who to contact, but does ANYONE
: reading this remember Raccoon? We're talking
: about the late 1980's/early 1990. He used
: to play festivals there with Solar Circus,
: Jello Boys, etc. I REALLY want to get ahold
: of him or his music. I can be contacted at
: localcolor899@yahoo.com. I don't know how
: to make that a link, but I'm sure you can
: figure that all out...
: Thanks to anyone who can help me. I am very
: very very fond of his music.....
