Hi Brian,
Yes, it is the same Captains Flat near Queanbeyan, I visited it recently,I live near Wollongong. Joseph and Catherine Lilley lived on a farm there called "Lillydale" Catherine worked the farm and Joseph worked in the mine he was an engine driver.They had 10 children: Mathew 1884, Joseph 1885, May 1886, Rose 1888,George 1890,Charles 1892, Lucy 1894, Emma 1898, Arthur 1900.
The first 4 were born in Q.L.D.Lucy and Emma were born in Captains Flat. The family moved to Sydney 1899. They lived at Erskinville and Punchbowl.
