You'll need to expand your budget if you wish to take "good" closeup (macro)of jewelry. If you push it to the $179 range, you can look at Canon's "A" series of cameras. If you cannot take the photos near a window or in very good light, you will need to invest in lighting. Some people use simple desk lamps, but for around $120 you can get simple "studio lamps" from places like Wolf camera. HOST
