A 2X convert lens is that - a lens of sorts. It cannot be used alone, but connected to the camera and a lens being added on to it, doubles the range of the lens, similar to a telescope effect. You lose some light in the process due to the extra optics, though. A tude is just that - a tube, which allows you to get closer to an object. HOST
