Well of course the first thing you should do is to call Pentax tech support and see if they can suggest anything over the phone. Even if they won't honor the warranty (if you bought it via online and a "non authorized" reseller), they should hopefully offer suggestions. If not, take it to a camera shop and see if by chance they have a model laying around with a compatible battery they can pop in and try out. If that doesn't work, well, "lesson learned". HOSTS
