Sony Mavica CD/HP Photosmart Printer

I have just been given a Sony Mavica CD 300 camera. I also have a Sony S90 Cybershot. I prefer the Mavica, but my HP Photosmart printer (A617) won't access the images on the camera. Is there a way I can work around this & use the printer? My computer is a Macintosh G3 (Blue 7 White) running System 9.2. I really like the Mavica, but would like to be able to use the Photosmart printer with it.
