If you're "trying to capture movement in the dark" you'll need a camera better than the A550. It's a nice little camera, but you need a camera that you can set to a high iso speed in order to get a fast indoor lower light shutter speed as well.. and for that I'm afraid, you need a digital SLR. The cheapest of those is the Nikon D40 at around $549.00.

Otherwise, indoors in low light, use the flash always and hope for the best.
