Thank you for your response. I am aware of the release of the FZ28, but insofar as I was able to purchase the FZ18 for just under $300.00 landed from a Panasonic dealer (Vann's) and because it came recommended by a trusted friend who uses it although he owns a very expensive DSLR. He feels it does a great job for what it is; basically a point and shoot digital. It hasn't arrived as yet, but I am looking forward to trying it and getting a feel for digital photography as opposed to film. This friend processes (if you call it that)manipulates and prints all of his own work. At this time, I am not into that, but who knows? I haven't done any of that since my B&W days (I still love B&W). I will stay tuned and thank you again for this wonderful site.
