There is nothing you can do.
It is standard for manufacturer warranties to cover ONLY defective items. That is, if for no reason a part of the camera just stops working the way it's supposed to. These manufacturer warranties do not cover "abuse", which would fall into you dropping it, water damage, etc.
Even retail store extended warranties do not cover droppage - again, they're only an extension of the manufacturer warranty policies. The exception being Wolf/Ritz that offer "all inclusive" warranties, but they cost $$$.
An unfortunate lesson learned: Always use your wrist strap.
