An aussie houla in KY. Barbie turned out to be pregnant when we pulled her and I debated on what to do as she could not cross the border into Canada without rabbies and vaccines. The shelter and I decided it was best to abort the litter and spay her. She would delivered eight puppies. I couldn't justify allowing the litter to be born, compromise her life as she may have been euthanized possibly if rescue didn't step in. With all the dogs in need that we see everyday, I felt it was best not to bring eight more dogs into this world. It was a very hard decision and I question if I did the right thing as we are supposed to rescue lives.
