Hillary's input on mom and babies-
Certainly, she looks like she has some Catahoula in her, in my opinion anyway. I agree that fear is the basis of her growling, compounded now with the fact that the babies are laying in such a way that they are between the door and her. I will do the best I can to get better photographs of her tomorrow and send them to you, as well as some of the babies. Thanks for helping.
As far as I know, she was a stray. And she had her pups at the shelter Friday. Ten, and they seem to be doing well. The problem in mom. She growls. A lot. I have not been in the pen with her, but I have given her the opportunity to snap at my fingers through the bars, and she has not offered to bite, but she still growls. I think it is fear from not being terribly socialized, but I cannot be absolutely sure of that. Her attitude is going to make it harder to place her, I know,but it is what it is. I am willing to push the envelope more and see what I can do with her, if I know someone is willing to give her a chance.
