Michelle had blood work done yesterday to see if she had any signs of an infection still and the test they are looking at for that specifically is called CRP. The normal range is not about .5. When she had this test done two weeks ago it was 1.2 and I was concerned since it was still high she would have to have a PIC line put in for IV antibiotics for 6 weeks. But the doctor told me then it would take some time to bring her levels down and we scheduled for another two weeks out which was yesterday. I just got her test results back and her CRP is .5! that's normal! her sodium and all the other tests that had a high range pointing to infection are all again within the normal limits. She hopefully she is out of the woods for any type of infection. She had an MRI done the other day as a precaution and there was an air pocket and some fluid in the surgical area so we are scheduled to do another MRI the first week of October. The only other thing I'm trying to keep from happening with her is I have a cold and I have been feeding her airborne twice a day so she won't get my cold., and I have been wearing gloves when I'm moving her around. So far so good its been almost a week. She is still making baby step improvement. The things I noticed this week is she is able to remember certain things for longer periods of time, such as the date the month the year, basic orientation stuff. But she also remembered visitors and she hasn't remembered that before and she is moving her left leg a lot more when getting in and out of the car. She is almost able to get out by herself by pulling herself into her wheel chair. So its those little baby steps in the right direction.
