Every year I’ve said “once we get property, I will breed her!”. Well, we are 6 months or so away from getting our own property where she can live at home with us. I have realized that is she WAY beyond the typical age for breeding. I am wondering, though, is it completely nuts to breed her this year?
She has been well cared for over the years with regular chiropractic visits, body work, etc. I get super positive feedback from her chiropractor, vet and the woman who does her body work that she is in wonderful shape and looks more 15-16 instead of 21.
I wouldn’t ask her to do something (1) if I didn’t think she would enjoy it – I think she would LOVE having another baby (she loves babies). And (2), if she didn’t seem up for it. She is in excellent overall health and I have done some research and heard of some Arabians going into their late twenties having babies. Am I totally nuts? I have a visit scheduled with her vet to get his feedback on breeding her.
Please be gracious with your feedback – there are polite ways to tell me I am an idiot for considering breeding her.
